It’s that time again. Time to gather school books for the new year. I have been “window shopping” since about January but now it’s time to gather them. And boy are there a lot this year! I am now up to 5 pupils in our “classroom”. Each one was thrilled to see the fresh new supplies I acquired in bulk. I (im)patiently awaited the annual “school supply” sale–you know the one…crayons for $0.20, markers $0.88, etc. Dh even helped out this time. He found folders, protractors and rulers for a penny each! Go dad! My hope is to better organize our school stuff (i.e. books, papers, supplies) this year. The 2-shelf bookshelf just doesn’t cut it for us anymore. lol
One new thing I’d like to try to do this year is to get started in Lapbooking. We’ll start easy, like I’ve seen suggested, and do some mini-books. I think the kids will enjoy it because they love doing hands-on things.
Of course, all this means I need to hit the books as well–the lesson plan books. Better get movin’ I suppose.
